Songa is derived from the Buddhist tradition of the Sangha, the congregation of seekers who support one another along the path.
David Wilson and Kurt Hickman began upon their path in the early 1970's at a commune they lived on in the Sierra Nevada foothills. David's singing and song writing and Kurt's dynamic guitar style have continued to develop into what today is the core of Songa.
In 1980 David Wilson married Adrianne Chapin, the band's drummer, who is the grand daughter of John Chapin, the late viola and violin maker and owner of Chapin Music Co. of San Francisco, California.
David Martin, a veteran and highly sought after vocalist and bass guitar payer from Fort Bragg, California was lured into the fold in 1993. His multi-dimensional talents perfectly complement the musical stylings of Songa.
Songa in it's evolved form continues along the path. |
